Red Sky Bar Bangkok – Best Rooftop Bar in Bangkok

Red Sky Bar Bangkok – Best Rooftop Bar in Bangkok

Ever since ‘Hangover 2’ was filmed in Bangkok sky bars have been popping up all over the city. We have found one that’s affordable with some great views. With so many options, it might be hard to choose the best rooftop bar in Bangkok, but I think we have found it 55 floors above Bangkok is Red Sky Bar Bangkok.

*When looking for the best price and biggest selection of hotels in Bangkok check prices on Booking.com, we’ve found they are the best option and have a great cancelation policy.*

Best overall hotel in Bangkok – The Westin Grande Sukhumvit

How to get to Red Sky

You can reach Red Sky Bangkok from anywhere in the city by taking the BTS to the Siam station on the Sukhumvit line. Red sky bar is located on the 55th floor of the Centra Grand hotel. The hotel is attached to the Central World Mall in the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district.

If you’re looking where to stay in Bangkok the Siam area on Sukhumvit is one of our favorites.

Once at Central World Mall head to the ground floor and then walk toward the H&M store near the back, away from the main road. Keep left and walk past the H&M store. After about 100 meters, turn right into the entrance of the hotel. I

t doesn’t look like a hotel entrance, but the signs will say Bangkok Convention Center. Locate the elevators and take them to the hotel lobby or reception. Here, you will need to change elevators to go to Red Sky.

Make sure to get up to the rooftop bar at least 45 minutes to an hour before the actual sunset. This will ensure a good seat facing toward the sun, and the best part of the sunset is well before it actually goes down. I’d suggest going right when happy hour starts at 4 pm.

What are the Drink Prices at Red Sky

BKK Night and Roof top-2

The prices are what make Red Sky Bangkok the best rooftop bar in Bangkok. The happy hour is the best deal. Drinks are two for one from 4-6 pm. Without happy hour it could be pricey to drink here with a single beer costing 300 baht and mixed drinks starting at 320 baht.

At happy hour it’s still expensive Bangkok standards, but you are really paying for the view. We typically order higher-end mixed drinks because they are the same price as a beer, Makers Mark for me and Absolute vodka for Hannah. Red Sky does accept credit cards in case you get a little carried away at happy hour!

What is the Dress Code for a Rooftop Bar in Bangkok

The dress code is another reason why we love Red Sky. Their dress code is Smart Casual, which means pants and a collared shirt for guys, but sandals are fine.

I have seen people in shorts and t-shirts, but that’s not the rules. Women are allowed to wear most anything. Other rooftop bars in Bangkok have much stricter dress codes and will not let you in without dress shoes and fancier clothes, which can be tough for travelers.

Sunsets in Bangkok are amazing, nightly the city has a fiery red and orange sunset. The humidity and clouds the city has light up with bright colors as the sun sinks behind them. It’s definitely a must-do in Bangkok.

We missed the sunset by 10 minutes because of the heavy traffic, but you were right, the views were amazing and the cocktails were very good.

Love rooftop bars, but they can definitely be a little too cheesy or 'loungey" for me sometimes, but Red Sky sounds just right as far as vibe. Can't beat 2 for 1 either.

2 for 1 is the selling point! Red Sky has everything we could ask for. You are right several can be cheesy, thankfully Red Sky isn't like this.
