8 Reasons To Take A Caribbean Cruise This Winter

8 Reasons To Take A Caribbean Cruise This Winter

Sick of winter already? You’re not alone! Adam and I have been in Wisconsin for 2 weeks and we’re already planning our Caribbean escape. What better way to beat the winter blues than to take a Caribbean cruise?

We went on our first Caribbean cruise this October with Holland America Line. We’ve crossed an Eastern Caribbean cruise off of our list, and here are some reasons why you should too this winter!

1. No Shoveling

Say goodbye to the snow at the airport. The forecast on a Caribbean cruise is sunny and 80 degrees all week. Now that’s something to jump for joy for!

2. No Winter Jackets

Leave the winter sweaters at home! All that’s needed for a week in the Caribbean is swimsuits, sandals, and lightweight clothing.

3. No Cleaning

No chores for a week. The vacuum also needs a vacation. On the aboard the MS Eurodam with Holland America Line our room was cleaned daily and had daily turn-down service, all while you are out having fun or better yet in the spa!

4. No Cooking

No need to create a meal plan for this week. Every night the turndown service leaves tomorrow’s “paper” in the room with tomorrow’s restaurants, restaurant hours, and menu features at the fancy dining room.

On our Caribbean cruise with Holland America Line, there were 8 restaurants: Pinnacle Grille, Tamarind, Le Cirque, Rembrandt Dining Hall, Lido Restaurant, Canaletto, Dive In,  and Slice Pizza. We made sure to dine at them all.

Some of the restaurants do require an additional charge and reservations, we planned our dinners out in advance. We highly recommend dining at Pinnacle grill, we love steak and Pinnacle Grill did not disappoint. We also loved Tamarind, as we are huge Asian food lovers. Our go to lunch spot on the ship was Dive-In burger bar located on the pool deck, don’t forget to order cheese on the fries!

5. No Dishes

I love cooking, but I HATE dishes. I wish I could just but my dishes outside my room at home and they would magically disappear. Unfortunately, this only happens on a cruise.

6. No Traffic Jams

The average American’s commute time to work is 25.5 minutes ONE-WAY, that’s almost an hour spent in the car. If you live in LA, DC, or Chicago it’s a daily traffic jam!

7. No Alarm Clock

Go to bed whenever and forget the alarm clock. No boss waiting at work!

8. No Responsibilities

A week off from the “Real World.” Stay up late, join a bar crawl, dance the night away at the disco, test your luck at blackjack, and just have fun! You have nobody to answer to, hell you’re on vacation.

Not like you needed a reason to take a Caribbean cruise but I just gave you reasons why you should take a Caribbean cruise this winter. Now all you have to decide is which part of the Caribbean you want to see!

You had me at No Shoveling, lol. We are in Colorado and had a pretty snowy December for here. However not having to deal with an alarm clock or traffic jams would be the highest on the list : Thanks for sharing.

Shoveling is over-rated! Hopefully, you get to hop on a cruise this winter and have an alarm free vacation. Safe travels
