Overland African Safari

If you are looking for a trip that will change your life, look no further than an African Safari. Here is a collection of stories from our travels in Africa, and hopefully some inspiration on taking a trip to Africa yourself.

  • We never wanted to be farmers, but if I could open a cheetah farm I would!
  • Our favorite campsite in Africa, Spitzkoppe…Spitzkoppe at night is magical.
  • If you have ever seen a picture of the sand dunes in Namibia it’s probably this guy: Dune 45
  • In the cloudless night skies of Namibia, there were a million stars.

  1. We are going on an overland safari from Nairobi to Johannesburg next year. Great to read your tips, though I still cant believe I won’t need a super warm sleeping bag!
When you come back to Australia, make sure you go inland, and to Western Australia. Too many tourists just do the east coast, and maybe Uluru. The Kimberly area of northern WA and west coast are stunning, and so different to the east coast. Karajini and Cape Range national parks, the Bungle Bungles, Esperance… is a very big diverse country so you need plenty of time to explore it.
