Maasai Mara In Pictures – Video Post

Maasai Mara In Pictures – Video Post

We spent 3 days in one of Kenya’s most famous game parks with Acacia Africa as part of our 43 day Safari from Nairobi to Cape town. In just 2 days we caught sight of the Big 5, and plenty of other species. Along with the game drives we also had time to visit a local Maasai Village, which the park is named after. The Maasai people live in a traditional way in house of sticks and mud (cow mud actually) and live off the livestock they tend. We got to see how they live and got to watch the men perform one of their traditional dances where they jump high into the air. Our time in Kenya was an amazing way to start our safari.

I took most of these with my new Sigma 150-500 mm camera lens that I got specifically for our safari. The lens has been great for getting up close to the animals without getting eaten, the only slight downside is that even fully zoomed out at 150mm is still very zoomed in and tough to get any kind of landscapes.

If you are looking at taking a safari on your own, we’d recommend booking with Tour Radar and getting on a Acacia Africa operated overland. Book your overland tour with Tour Radar, if you are looking for a week or a 4-month safari check prices now.

Thanks for sharing these. Seeing the Big 5 is something many of us want to do some day. Congrats on doing it in just 2 days! By the way, by “cow mud” do you mean mud made out of cow dung?? Interesting lifestyle.
