Just as we got back home from a two-week trip to Mexico, we got a package on our doorstep from… Mexico! Panama Jack Resorts send us a box of goodies to celebrate two new resort locations in the Riviera Maya.

Let the Adventure Begin!
Inside our box from Panama Jack Resorts was a “Beach in a box” kit full of sunscreen, seashells, and a little bit of aloe vera just in case. A little deeper into the box we found probably our favorite item – a message in a bottle filled with a little note and scented bath salts. The gift from Panama Jack Resorts was to put us in the mood for sunshine, happiness, and relaxation.
We couldn’t resist pulling the cork to see what our message in a bottle said. We were secretly hoping for tickets to get right back on the plane to Mexico. When we pulled the cork we found a divine smelling bottle of bath salts, turquoise – just like the color of the ocean in Mexico.
We will be sure to use our box to help us get us through until we can be reunited with the beach! Depending on where you live, the winters can be long and that’s why we try to find our way to the beach at least once each winter. Cancun and Playa del Carmen are two awesome options for a winter escape. Below are some reasons to #ChooseJack and make your next beach getaway to one of their two newest properties.
Reasons to Love Playa del Carmen and the new Panama Jack Resort
Playa del Carmen is one of our favorite places in the world. We have been to a lot of places and we always find ourselves back here. There is so much to do in and around Playa del Carmen and Cancun. Getting from Cancun airport to Playa del Carmen is super easy and straightforward.
We typically rent a car in Mexico a drive ourselves to Playa del Carmen. If you have been flowing our blog long enough you might remember that we actually lived in Playa del Carmen for almost half a year back in 2016. It’s an area we know well and truly love.
The Panama Jack Resorts Playa del Carmen is in literally the perfect spot in Playa. It’s right on the beach in the very center of town. From here you have easy access to the entire city and some of the best beaches in the entire city.
We think this location is so much better than a lot of the resorts that have you tucked far away in the Playacar resort area of Playa del Carmen. Here you have the best of both worlds, you’re right in the middle of the tourist action while still having the resort seclusion if you don’t want to venture out.
Things to do near Panama Jack Playa del Carmen
Take a stroll on 5th avenue walking street – One of the most fun things to do in Playa del Carmen is just a few steps from the resort. Take a walk down 5th Avenue any time of the day for great shopping, food, drinks, and entertainment.
Day trip to Cozumel – Panama Jack Resorts is close to one of the main ferry docks that make daily trips to Cozumel Island. Hop onboard and explore another gem of Mexico while visiting.
Lounge at the Pool – Make sure you plan enough relaxation time while visiting Playa del Carmen and spend enough time enjoying all the comforts of the resort.
Swim with the Sea turtles in Akumal – Grab your fins and snorkel and take a short trip down to Akumal Bay to swim with the famous sea turtles here. There is about a 99.9% chance of seeing sea turtles when you visit this special beach.
Visit a few cenotes near Playa del Carmen – The Riviera Maya is home to thousands of cenotes or sinkholes that are great to explore and take a swim. While there are more than 7,000 cenotes, there are a few just a short drive from the resort. One of our favorites is Cenote Calavera.
Go Parasailing right from the beach at Panama Jack Resorts – Get a bird’s eye view of the beach and resort while sailing a few hundred feet above the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Visit the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza or Tulum – One big reason many people visit Playa del Carmen and the Yucatan is to get a glimpse into the time of the Mayan people who used to call this place home. There are several Mayan ruins near Panama Jack Resorts, the most popular and most impressive are Chichen Itza and Tulum Ruins.
Swim with the whale sharks near Isla Mujeres (summertime only) – Come see one of Nature’s finest displays when thousands of whale sharks make their voyage around the Yucatan Penisula swimming right past Playa, Cancun, and Isla Mujeres. These animals are the world’s largest fish, and while the name sounds scary, they are about the most gentle creatures you’ll ever come across, and no they won’t eat you!
