The Danna Hotel | Ultimate Luxury in Langkawi

As soon as we walked into The Danna hotel Langkawi we knew we were going to have a great stay. We were greeted by a warm staff, an expansive lobby, a cool towel, and a welcome drink.

The Danna hotel Langkawi

Once we were all checked in, we were brought up to our luxurious room. We had a sea-view room overlooking the ocean and a nicely appointed infinity pool. The room itself had a large main room with a comfy king-sized bed and large TV.

The bathroom had a large double vanity with high-end designer soaps. We enjoyed our rainfall shower, but the true highlight of the bathroom was the soaking tub. Placed between the bedroom and bathroom was a large tub with doors that opened to have sea-views from the bathtub. The details in the room were endless down to the daily fruit platter and cookie jar that was always full.

The Danna Room-4

The Danna offers several room types including merchant, grand merchant, marina, viceroy, grand viceroy, countess suite, duchess suite, and royal emperor suite. All rooms were nicely appointed with high-end finishes throughout. High ceilings and spacious quarters give The Danna a very luxurious feel.

The Danna has just over 120 rooms making it just the right size to have everything you could possibly need, without feeling overly resort-like. The hotel is built in a square with a lush courtyard full of exotic flowers, trees, and a calming coy fish pond. As lovely as the courtyard was, our favorite part of the property was the pool.

The Danna Pool Pano-2

Besides the room, we spent the majority of our time down by the pool. The infinity pool of The Danna hotel is situated between the hotel and the sea. The pool area is full of nice lounge chairs around and in the shallow spots of the water. Whenever we weren’t on a tour in Langkawi, this is where you could find us.

Around 5pm, a bell would ring signifying the start of happy hour. From 5-7pm every day the pool bar cut their prices in half, leaving beers costing just 7RM and mixed drinks from 12-25RM.

On the 5th floor of The Danna is a different type of relaxation other than the happy hour. The Danna spa offers a huge range of relaxing spa packages. We booked a one hour Malay massage in the two table couples room.

The spa experience started with a cool scented towel and a cup of spiced tea to get us in the mood. We made the mistake of only booking a 60-minute massage, book the 90-minute massage and thank me later.

The food at The Danna hotel is almost worth the trip to Langkawi alone. Daily breakfast is included with all room types. For breakfast, we were able to order a main item off of a short menu and then fill in our plates with an extensive buffet. The service included Malay, English, and Indian breakfast dishes.

The Danna offered something to accommodate the tastes of all guests. I found myself at the table full of fine cheeses and pastries most mornings. Along with all the tasty foods to try there was also champagne on the buffet to get your day started right.

Breakfast was only the tip of the iceberg at The Danna Hotel Langkawi. Lunch and dinner were also exceptional. For lunch, we dined poolside most days with a full menu of Malay and international dishes. One of the more memorable lunches at The Danna was the chef’s tiffin set which was filled with 4 different Malay specialities.

The highlight of all of our meals at The Danna was the chef’s signature dishes. On our final night, he prepared for us an amazing meal of lamb and beef tenderloin. The meal was executed to perfection, with a starter of prawns and cuttlefish, and finished with a table-side preparation desert. It was a great way to end our stay at The Danna.

As amazing as all of the services The Danna were, the aspect of the property that truly impressed me most were the people. The staff of the hotel are nothing short of amazing. It seemed where ever we walked someone knew our names and making sure all of our needs were met.

The Danna and its staff has a way of making you feel very welcome, a way of making you feel like you are the most important person staying at the property.

The Danna hotel was our favorite hotel in Langkawi and we can’t wait to return. worth every penny.
