In a year when we’ve all probably been home too much, there’s still no place we’d rather be during this time of the year! (For us, if you don’t already know is in Wisconsin) We spent many of the Christmases of the past decade on the other side of the world, while we wouldn’t give up those experiences, we also want to make it a point not to miss any more holidays with family. So this year is all about rekindling old Christmas traditions and starting a few new ones with our own little family.
We have a busy December planned and it worked out great that L.L. Bean asked us to take a few pieces from this year’s collection on a test drive during our holiday adventures! So far, we are loving how versatile all of the pieces are and we have got a ton of fun photos as we get ready for our holiday celebrations – because even if they aren’t as big as they normally are, we are still going to get dressed up! #LLBeanPartner
Christmas Traditions New & Old
The memories made around the holidays are some of the most vibrant and always full of the people who are most important. We want to keep up with many of the traditions we grew up with and add to them with our own twists. Growing up we always had a real Christmas tree and that’s something we want to keep going… But we wanted to take it to another level and handpick and cut our own tree.
We scoured the acres and acres of trees looking for just the right one. After a few strong contenders we settled on this cute chubby cone-shaped tree!
I think this might be a tradition we keep. We had a lot of fun roaming the fields in search of the perfect tree! We ended up outside for a lot longer than we planned, but that was fine with us because we were warm and cozy in our L.L Bean outfits – plus they looked great in a few of our Christmas card photos too!
Atlas might not remember this trip to pick out our Christmas tree, but it will be one we won’t forget! He looked so cute with his little L.L. Bean Fleece Bunting on, like a little huggable teddy bear!
We are pretty happy with the end results of our little tree!
Find more local adventures in 2021
We decided to start our New Years’ resolution a little early (because literally what else do we have to do?) we are trying to make it a point to go and explore our own backyard more and find local adventures.
Our first adventure was to a park that as a kid Adam spent a lot of time, 7 Bridges Trail in one of our best local parks, Grant Park. We geared up in our new L.L. Bean clothes for a late fall day in the park. As the name suggests there are seven bridges to be found here, but even more great photo spots. We wandered all the way down the trails to Lake Michigan while breathing in the fresh air and for a few hours reconnecting with nature.
Our new L.L. Bean gear kept us warm and active while still looking good!
