Wet-aged and dry-aged USDA prime beef is their claim to fame, with reserve cuts being the ultimate order here. They have some of the finest steaks and wet-aged steaks in Milwaukee.
There’s a wide range of sauces and toppings to choose from after you pick your cut, like foie gras or king crab Oscar. The refined starters, seafood plates, and shareable sides are all just as artfully crafted.

2. Mr. B’s – A Bartolotta Steak House
Mr. B’s has two locations in Wisconsin, one in Mequon and the other in Brookfield, which is just outside of Milwaukee. It’s been deemed one of the top steakhouses in America.
They use a high-heat wood-burning oven to sear their meat to perfection. It gives it a unique caramelized and buttery crust, and they are each aged for up to 35 days.
The outdoor patio is open seasonally, and it’s a lovely way to enjoy an al fresco evening. There are rotating specials, some surf and turf combo plates, and potatoes made any number of ways on the side.
I recommend starting any meal with Lobster Mac and Cheese too. You will never leave disappointed at a Bartolotta restaurant.

3. Five O’clock Steakhouse
The Five O’clock Steakhouse is a timeless restaurant free of trends and rich in tradition. It truly is a dining experience. They are known for live entertainment and retro lounges in the classic supper club fashion.
The porterhouse is their specialty, though the bacon-wrapped filets and the hickory-smoked baby back ribs have also gotten rave reviews. Medium rare is recommended, but you can choose from three other cook styles, though well done is not on the table.

4. The Packinghouse
The Packinghouse is a family-owned eatery with a from-scratch kitchen. It is a real Southside local favorite. They’re open for lunch and dinner and use only the finest ingredients to craft each dish.
The space has a more mellow and fun-spirited flare than some other stuffy steakhouses. It is not your fancy steakhouse place.
The Famous Onion Shreds Basket is the most enticing appetizer, and some popular mains are the Beef Wellington, Garlic Stuffed Filet, and the Market Twin Tails.
Everything is very customizable, with toppings to add from the garden, the sea, or handmade sauces. They have an extensive menu. There’s always at least one vegetarian course and plenty of gluten-free plates.

5. Mo’s…A Place For Steak
Mo’s first opened in 1999 and has become renowned as one of the most romantic restaurants in Milwaukee. It boasts a sophisticated and luxurious ambiance.
Sip a martini in a deep leather chair, listen to the swooning sounds of the grand baby piano, and cut into a wet-aged steak for the full experience.
Each course will tantalize your taste buds, from the appetizers to the sides to the desserts. It’s a simple menu full of decadent dishes, like Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops, Tuna Steak, and Wagyu Filet.
With its location right near E Wisconsin Ave, it is one of the best restaurants for business meetings in downtown Milwaukee.

6. Mason Street Grill
The enticing aromas from the Mason Street Grill hit you as soon as you walk in the door. The wood-fired grill offers a smoky flavor to the freshly cooked dishes.
They serve classic dinners like Steak and Fries, Rack of Lamb, and Pan Roasted Chicken. It’s on the more casual side with a diverse menu that’s not entirely about the beef.
I love to get a few of the shareables when I’m here, especially if it’s for a light lunch with a craft cocktail. They have an enchanting outdoor patio and often host local live music performances. You can also go for take-out and private dining here.

The Chophouse is located inside the historic Hilton Milwaukee downtown. It’s a contemporary environment serving exceptional cuisine.
Each steak is hand-selected daily. The seafood is flown in fresh from the coast and produced is sourced from local growers.

Eldr+Rime is a modern hotspot for dining out just outside of the city in Wauwatosa. Less fancy and more relaxed yet refined, the space is inspired by the Scandinavian lifestyle. They still serve familiar American fare, though with an elevated twist.
There’s an herb garden on-site, so the seasoning is pretty much as fresh as possible. The patio can be enjoyed all year round, and mixologists here really know how to make a mean drink.
There’s something for everyone, from Swedish Meatball Sliders to Duck Confit Fried Rice to, of course, their famous Tomahawk steak.
The space is fun, with an open kitchen and bar area. So if you aren’t super hungry, you can come to have a drink and check out their current seasonal menus and see if you want to stay for dinner.

9. Wards House of Prime
Wards House of Prime is where the prime rib is king, known as the ultimate beef bonanza. Roasts are slow-cooked after being cured for two days with special spices.
They’re open for dine-in and take-out from Tuesday to Saturday. If you conquer a large cut, you can even earn a spot on their coveted wall of fame.
The 360 ounces is the top amount of meat to beat, but 40 is all you need to be considered a success. They’ve also continually won the Wine Spectator Award with their eclectic yet approachable cellar.
The lounge is lively, with plenty of big screens and spirits as well.

10. Eddie Martini’s
Eddie Martini’s has been a favorite steakhouse outside of Milwaukee since 1995. The setting has a retro 1940s style that feels fun and cozy at the same time.
There are classic and more creative cocktails available, a traditional menu, and a wide range of fine wines. Their credo is thoughtful ingredients, in knowing hands and expertly presented.
Stewed Escargots, Grilled Brie, and if you’re feeling fancy, a Seafood Tower are all gorgeous ways to get your meal going here. Of course, plenty of premium cuts of Midwestern beef grace the menu as well, like the Dry Aged Strip and the Filet Mignon.

11. Milwaukee Steakhouse
Milwaukee Steakhouse cooks up charbroiled USDA choice Black Angus steaks. Each one comes with mushrooms, soup or salad, a relish tray, warm fresh bread, and a choice of potato.
Other entrees include Pork Chops, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Lamb Shank. As in the supper club tradition, they also host a delicious fish fry every Friday. It’s an easygoing atmosphere with affordable fares.
Start the evening at the bar here to enjoy artisan libations like old-fashioned or a flirtini. Reservations are a must at this one, so plan ahead before heading over.

12. Fleming’s Steakhouse
Fleming’s is a national chain known for its upscale ambiance and serious culinary skills. They cook simple food done at the highest possible quality.
There’s a special menu on Tuesday called Taste for Twosday, where a couple of people can eat for a flat fee of $135. Signature steaks are served with a choice of butter: either bearnaise, smoked chili, or herbed horseradish.
You can top them off with truffled poached lobster or seared pork belly. The desserts are just as tasty here if you manage to save some room. Go for the creme brulee or the chocolate lava cake.

13. Dream Dance Steakhouse
Located inside the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino, the Dream Dance Steakhouse is an award-winning fine dining destination.
Grit Fried Shrimp and Wisconsin Cheese Fritters are a couple of the comfort food appetizers. Not to be confused with the shareable sides, such as the Brussel Sprouts and Bacon or the Duck Fat Fingerlings.
There’s a wide range of steaks offered, and all come with the house bearnaise. The Mizayaki for the market price is their most impressive chop, though I’ve never gone wrong with the Bone-in Ribeye here, especially if you enhance it with the gorgonzola crust. You can also try their special deal, a three-course meal for under $50.

14. The Steakout
The Steakout first opened over 30 years ago, quickly becoming a local legend in the Milwaukee area.
One of the main draws at this elevated eatery is the open flame grilling in the dining room. It’s dinner and a show, plus the food comes packed with flavor.
From Prime Rib and Lobster to Steak and Scallops, the beef and the seafood here are both to die for. Several sides come with the meal, as well as freshly baked Italian bread. They’re open for lunch and dinner and host a Friday fish fry. The ambiance is rustic and refined, with warm lighting and exposed brick.
