Looking for a good Halloween scare? Head to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando, which is commonly known as HHN Orlando for short. HHN Orlando has been voted the Best Halloween Event 8 years in a row by Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Awards, so it’s pretty safe to say it’s awesome.

What is HHN?

If you love Halloween or haunted houses, then HHN is right for you! Universal Orlando transforms Univeral Studios Florida into one heck of a haunted place.

The streets of Universal Studios become scare zones, with the walking dead literally roaming the streets waiting to scare the crap out of you. There are 9 haunted houses, live shows, and several rides are also running to get your adrenaline running.

Prices for HHN vary based on what night of the week you visit. The cheapest tickets to Universal Orlando’s HHN are $73.99.

Each haunted house is different, and if you have time, definitely try and make it through them all. Every year, HHN gets scarier and scarier, and the haunted houses change from year to year.

Tips & Tricks For Surviving HHN Orlando

Get there early

Like any theme park or haunted house, the lines can get long…get there early! If you are there right when the gates open, gun it to your must-see haunted house at HHN.

Stay Late

Get the most screams for your money and stay till the park closes, which is 2 am. The lines get drastically shorter after midnight, and let’s get real. Things tend to get scarier after midnight!

Get A Map And Make A Plan Of Attack

Make a list of your top haunted houses and map out your evening. The park is big, try and visit several haunted houses that are in the same area. No reason to waste time wandering around the park. Maps are available online prior to arriving at HHN.

Stay On-Site At A Universal Orlando Resort

Spend the night at the park! No one wants to drive home at 2 am after getting the crap scared out of them…Plus, traffic getting in & out of Universal Orlando can get heavy. There are several hotel & HHN ticket packages available.

There are eight on-site hotels, all within walking distance from Universal Orlando, we stayed at the brand new Lowes Sapphire Falls Resort, but there is something for every budget. It was great being able to relax by the pool beforehand and then go run screaming straight to bed!

Buy Tickets Early

HHN does sell out! Make sure to buy your HHN 2018 ticket in advance, especially if you are planning to visit on the weekend of Halloween night.

Ride The Rides

When lines are long for the haunted houses, head for the rides. Make the most out of your HHN ticket and ride some of the famous rides like The Simpsons Ride, Harry Potter And The Escape From Gringotts, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, Transformers 3D, Men In Black: Alien Attack, and Revenge Of The Mummy.

Don’t Wear A Costume Or Mask

Costumes and masks aren’t allowed into HHN. There are plenty of those inside the park.

Buy An Express Pass

Want to ensure you scream at all the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights, then make sure to purchase the HHN Express Pass. We were able to scream in all 10 of the haunted houses and see Bill & Teds Excellent Halloween Adventure live show within 4 hours of entering the park at 7 p.m.

Express passes are $79.99 per pass per night. This is an additional charge from your admission ticket, so it’ll be more like $150 on average.
