1. Julie’s Park Cafe

Julie’s Park Café is attached to a small motel in Fish Creek, near the entrance to Peninsula State Park. This is a great spot to stop and sit in for breakfast or lunch or grab something quick along the way. We usually fill up on a big breakfast before a busy day exploring all the things to do in Door County.

Julie’s has a kids’ menu and a few vegetarian options, so it’s well-rounded for the whole family. Their lunch menu has many options to fill you up, like flame-grilled burgers and fresh sandwiches, but it’s their breakfast that takes the cake. Try the cherry pancakes and their gourmet, house-made hot chocolate to start your day.

2. White Gull Inn

There’s something about a Bed & Breakfast restaurant that just exudes a cozy, warm aura. The White Gull Inn is a bed and breakfast in Door County located near the state park entrance and just off the banks of Sunset Beach Park.

Not only do they do a killer breakfast and lunch, but they offer a candlelight dinner menu with some seriously delicious dishes. Salmon, ribeye steak, and succulent pasta are just a few of the amazing options.

Or, if you want an authentic Wisconsin experience and you’re here during the summer, stop by for their classic fish boils.

3. Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant

Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant in Sister Bay. It is also one of the most famous restaurants in Door County, so expect a wait.

As the name suggests, they specialize in Scandinavian fare, with herring and Swedish meatballs being some of their most-ordered dishes. The interior is decorated like a Nordic cabin (major cozy vibes), and waitresses wear traditional Scandinavian costumes.

If you’re just stopping by for a drink, grab a Malmo Mule from their outdoor bar, the Stabbur, and be sure to keep your eyes out for one of the highlights of Al Johnson’s: the live goats which walk on the grass-covered rooftop.

If you’re looking for an anytime meal that’s homey, delicious, and made with fresh quality ingredients sourced locally, the Chef’s Hat Café is the spot for you. Open 8 am-9 pm every day, this quaint and inviting little eatery borders Peninsula State Park and boasts gorgeous views of Eagle Harbor.

Pitch up in the dining room on chillier days, or bask in the sunshine on their outdoor patio in the summer months. Breakfast must-haves include their homemade scones and chef’s egg scrambles, but if you’re coming for lunch or dinner, we highly recommend the meatloaf.

5. Morning Glory

Morning Glory is one of the local’s favorite breakfast spots. Morning Glory often is voted to have the best breakfast in Door County by local websites and newspapers.

They serve breakfast all day, which is a huge perk for any breakfast lover. Everything is good on the menu, but our go-to is the skillets. Adam loves the meat lovers skillet, and my go-to is the Morning Glory skillet.

The breakfast menu is full of all the usual breakfast items eggs, omelets, pancakes, steak and eggs, etc. You won’t be disappointed at Morning Glory.

The Old Post Office Restaurant isn’t just one of the best breakfasts in Door County. It’s breakfast with a view. They boast some seriously delicious home-cooked breakfasts from a menu with tons of options, whether you prefer savory omelets or rich, syrupy Belgian waffles (and everything in between). Their cherry pancakes are also a fan favorite.

Imagine sipping your first cup of freshly-brewed morning coffee while digging into a hot breakfast with a side of hashbrowns (another popular choice) and gazing out at the harbor. That’s what you can expect with a visit to the Old Post Office Restaurant!

Calling all breakfast lovers! The Blue Horse Café makes all-day breakfast, so you don’t need to worry if you’ve overslept — that breakfast sandwich and hot cup of coffee will be waiting for you. Dogs are welcome, so bring your furry friends with you to their outdoor seating area.

If you’re unsure what to get, the most popular menu item is the Muffaletta sandwich, a stuffed sandwich with three types of salami, provolone, pickled onions, greens, olive tapenade, and a homemade Italian dressing – all served on a piece of crispy fresh focaccia bread.

8. Scaturo’s Baking Co & Cafe

Scaturo’s bright and cheery interior will be a great start to your day, second only to their delicious offerings. Their breakfast menus are positively drool-worthy, enough that you may have a hard time choosing what to get. From French toast to eggs Benedict dripping with Hollandaise to healthy omelets and skillet breakfasts with crispy potatoes, one thing is certain: you will not leave hungry.

And be sure to save room for something sweet because they are a bakery first, restaurant second. Fresh-baked cookies, donuts, and sweet rolls are perfect for a grab-and-go after breakfast. Who doesn’t love a road snack, anyway?

3 Quick & Easy Door County Breakfast Restaurants

Door County Bakery

Door County Bakery is a great place to stop to grab something for the road. They have a deli counter, a bakery, and a small restaurant (their homemade quiche is extremely tasty). Whether you’re eating in or just popping by, don’t leave without a loaf of their famous Corsica loaf — crispy French bread infused with olive oil.

UPDATE- They no longer have retail hours, BUT you can order items in advance and have them delivered or pick them up. Call (920) 854-1137 to place an order.

Door County Coffee and Tea Co.

Looking for a good cup of coffee in Door County? Door County Coffee & Tea Co is where you’ll find it. Look for the homey white house with the jewel-green lawn and lounger chairs and the little red sign on the roof, and you’re in the right place.

If you’re looking for the full restaurant experience, this won’t quite fit that bill, but you can still find a few delicious things on their breakfast and lunch menu: breakfast burritos, egg scrambles, or baked oatmeal, to name a few. But the best thing is, of course, their specialty roasted coffee, with gourmet flavors and different roasts. While you’re here, pick up some homemade chocolate too!

Why didn't you have the Inn @ Cedar Crossing on the list? You also could have mentioned Farmer Dan's on 42 south of Egg Harbor where they have pancakes the size of tractor tires and great hashbrown potatoes.

Belgian Delight in Brussels should be at least Number 5 on this list..Heaping portions and incredible amount of pics and signage to purchase as you dine on some of their offerings.... Their broasted Chicken is incredibly juicy and tender with sides that will delight..but served only on Thursday ,Saturday, and Sunday...Their Friday Fish Fry is plenty for your palate!! You can catch them on the way up or down just off of Hwy 57 and CTH C..small signs just before that intersection telling you which way to turn off on C...

You missed Carroll House in Sister. They may be small but the line is out the door for their awesome breakfast.

So Hannah - I'm sitting in London right now and your article pops up! I agree with many of your choices but sadly I have to tell you that Door County Bakery no longer is open to the public. You can call ahead and place an order for the Corsica bread only. Of course that was my favorite anyway! I saw that we missed each other in Alaska. We were leaving a HAL trip on the day you arrived. Glad to see your family traveling!
