1. Julie’s Park Cafe

Julie’s Park Café is attached to a small motel in Fish Creek, near the entrance to Peninsula State Park. This is a great spot to stop and sit in for breakfast or lunch or grab something quick along the way. We usually fill up on a big breakfast before a busy day exploring all the things to do in Door County.

Julie’s has a kids’ menu and a few vegetarian options, so it’s well-rounded for the whole family. Their lunch menu has many options to fill you up, like flame-grilled burgers and fresh sandwiches, but it’s their breakfast that takes the cake. Try the cherry pancakes and their gourmet, house-made hot chocolate to start your day.

2. White Gull Inn

There’s something about a Bed & Breakfast restaurant that just exudes a cozy, warm aura. The White Gull Inn is a bed and breakfast in Door County located near the state park entrance and just off the banks of Sunset Beach Park.

Not only do they do a killer breakfast and lunch, but they offer a candlelight dinner menu with some seriously delicious dishes. Salmon, ribeye steak, and succulent pasta are just a few of the amazing options.

Or, if you want an authentic Wisconsin experience and you’re here during the summer, stop by for their classic fish boils.

3. Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant

Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant in Sister Bay. It is also one of the most famous restaurants in Door County, so expect a wait.

As the name suggests, they specialize in Scandinavian fare, with herring and Swedish meatballs being some of their most-ordered dishes. The interior is decorated like a Nordic cabin (major cozy vibes), and waitresses wear traditional Scandinavian costumes.

If you’re just stopping by for a drink, grab a Malmo Mule from their outdoor bar, the Stabbur, and be sure to keep your eyes out for one of the highlights of Al Johnson’s: the live goats which walk on the grass-covered rooftop.
