When visiting the best island in Thailand, which we all know is Koh Lipe, you have to build in time for some of the best Koh Lipe day trips to the nearby islands. Program 1 is our personal favorite day trip in Koh Lipe. 

There are a ton of things to do in Koh Lipe but getting out on a boat and exploring the nearby islands is the best. Here is everything you need to know about Koh Lipe Program 1 day trip. 


Koh Lipe Program 1 Day Trip: Jabang, Koh Hin-Ngam, Koh Yang, Koh Rawi, and Koh Adang

During your visit to Koh Lipe, you’ll likely see options to book the Program 1 tour. This is one of Koh Lipe’s most popular island-hopping tours, as it gives visitors the chance to explore some of the best islands, reefs, and natural landscapes that Thailand has to offer.

What Koh Lipe islands does Program 1 stop at?

Program 1 (also referred to as Program A) takes you to roughly five different destinations around Koh Lipe by longtail boat. The islands you’ll visit including

  • Jabang
  • Koh Hin-Ngam
  • Koh Yang
  • Koh Rawi
  • Koh Adang

These five islands are the closest to Koh Lipe, with the first reef being only a 15-minute boat ride away.

After leaving Koh Lipe, you’ll travel to Jabang for some snorkeling. Jabang is believed to have some of the most vibrant and colorful corals in Koh Lipe, which makes it an excellent first stop for anyone who wants to see tropical fish and stunning underwater landscapes.

As you explore the waters, you’ll likely come across a massive 50-foot pinnacle covered in a blanket of purple and pink soft corals, which is the main attraction while snorkeling in Jabang.

Keep in mind that the Jabang stop is to go snorkeling in the reef and not to visit the island itself. The boat will likely dock offshore, and you’ll be allowed to snorkel around the water. Make sure to bring your GoPro and check out our GoPro photography tips to get some great underwater photos. 

From Jabang, your longtail boat will travel to Ko Hin Ngam Noi, which on some maps is referred to as Koh Bu Rat. Ko Hin Ngam Noi is a small but beautiful island famous for beaches made of polished, black volcanic rocks. After you dock, you’ll be able to wander around or go snorkeling off the coast.

Your next stop is a visit to Koh Yang, one of the smallest islands in the archipelago. With a mix of hard and soft corals, Koh Yang is an excellent place to go snorkeling, as there are many underwater boulders covered in these fascinating corals. If you need a break from the water, you can always hang out on the shores of Koh Yang’s sun-soaked beaches.

By now, you should be getting a bit hungry, which means it’s probably time for lunch! The boat will take you from Koh Yang to Koh Rawi, a beautiful forested island marked by long white sandy beaches and lush foliage.

Your tour will most likely include a packed lunch, which you’ll eat here under the shady trees while admiring the stunning view of the lapping ocean in front of you. After lunch, you’ll have some time to either explore the island or go snorkeling.

After lunch, you’ll hop back on the boat to visit your last stop on the Program 1 tour – Koh Adang. As the second-largest island in the Tarutao National Marine Park, Koh Adang is a popular destination for hikers, snorkelers, divers, and sunbathers.

Once the boat docks, you’ll be able to venture one last time into the water, where you’ll see a fascinating array of marine life Racoon Butterfly Fish, Moorish Idols, and other colorful fish. Once everyone’s ready, you’ll board the boat and head back to Koh Lipe.

Koh Lipe day trip program 1 is a great option for snorkelers with to the calm waters and shallow reefs. Most tours include lunch, water, and snacks, as well as snorkel masks and fins. You can organize a tour through your hotel, or you can visit one of the many travel agencies along Koh Lipe’s walking street to book your seat.

How much does Koh Lipe Program 1 Cost?

You can expect to pay anywhere from 550 baht to 650 baht depending on which tour operator you book with. You might also be required to pay the Tarutao National Park entrance fee, which should be around 200 baht per person. Tips for guides and boat drivers are customary. How long is Program 1 Day Trip?

The tour leaves Koh Lipe at 9:30 in the morning and returns back to the island at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon.
