Playa del Carmen Beach Clubs

There’s something in Playa del Carmen for practically every type of traveler. This once laid-back fishing village is now a bustling hot spot, with a lively city center and miles of powder-soft beaches where you can kick back and enjoy the tropical vibes of Mexico.

One of the best things to do in Playa del Carmen during your visit is to hit up a beach bar. Whether you’re looking for a chill place with amazing food and ambient music or a trendy venue with dancing and non-stop cocktails, Playa del Carmen has a beach club for every style and budget.

Playa del Carmen travel guide - Best beach club Mamitas

1. Mamita’s Beach Club

Located just three blocks from bustling 5th avenue, Mamita’s Beach Club is arguably one of the most famous beach clubs in Playa del Carmen. Catering to the upscale and trendy crowd, Mamita’s has a spectacular 650-foot private beach, a VIP pool and lounge section, an electronic lounge area, and even a clubhouse with a restaurant.

All beds also come with a personal waiter so that you can enjoy your day in true glamour fashion.

Their menu has everything you could possibly want – tacos, pizza, burgers, wings, tostadas, and more. The cocktail list is also impressive, with dozens of tropical drinks, beer, wine, champagne, and hard liquor. It’s not the best food in Playa del Carmen, but good for snacking on the beach.

Keep in mind that this beach club is jam-packed, so it’s not the best destination if you’re looking for peace and quiet. There are 300 deck chairs and 100 beach umbrellas available for rent, although, on the weekends, you’ll still want to grab them early to guarantee a spot with a view.

Entry is free (except for the VIP section), and the prices for the different rentals vary, although you can usually find something that fits your budget.

  • Hours: Daily 9 am – 6 pm
  • Rental price: From $200 pesos (two beach sunbeds with umbrella) to $3,500 pesos (VIP sunbed for six people with $3,000 food credit)
