Wisconsin Bucket List: Riding RZRs with Polaris Adventures

Wisconsin Bucket List: Riding RZRs with Polaris Adventures

This summer, we wanted to get out into nature and try some summer activities that get the adrenaline pumping. One of our favorites this summer was an off-road trip in our home state of Wisconsin.

We made the drive from Milwaukee up to Warrens, Wisconsin to ride on what are considered to be some of the best trails in the state. As part of Polaris Adventures, a premium network of Outfitters nationwide, we got to adventure like a local with a ride and drive adventure at Bear Bogging. Checking out the latest Polaris RZR, we thoroughly covered ourselves and our vehicle in the mud! These machines are so much fun, plus they look and sound awesome, and definitely get the heart rate going!

It’s as easy as driving a car, and we buckled up to explore an extensive 235+ mile trail system in Black River State Forest. After three days, we put on almost 300 miles on our RZR as we cruised through all kinds of terrain like winding tree-lined trails to sandy stretches to mud-filled tracks. It was a fun way to get out into nature, and the best part was our local outfitter Bear Bogging showed us all kinds of trails that we had nearly to ourselves all weekend long.

We called Three Bears Resort home during our weekend getaway with Polaris Adventures. The resort is located just a short ride the expansive trail system, and down the road from tons of attractions. Our picture-perfect little cabin in the woods was a great base with parking for our Polaris RZR and nightly campfires!

Next time you are planning a trip take a look at the Polaris Adventures website and see if you can add one of their adventures to your itinerary, or better yet, plan your next trip around one of these adventures. Polaris Adventures has teamed up with hundreds of local Outfitters around the country to make finding an adventure easier than ever. There are destinations and experiences for all seasons and kinds of locations!

Top Reasons to Rent RZRs with Polaris Adventures & Bear Bogging

With hundreds of miles of professionally groomed trails, this part of the state is one of the best places to explore in Wisconsin. Bear Bogging is located just off the trails system that winds its way through 235+ miles of tree-filled Wisconsin forest, cranberry bogs, and natural landscapes.

The Machines – 2019 Polaris RZRs (New models every year)

Bear Bogging’s partnership with Polaris Adventures has its fleet fully outfitted with new 2019 RZRs. These machines are so much fun to ride! They are super capable and take out a lot of the shock and bumps during all day rides.

When you rent with a certified Polaris Adventures Outfitter, you know you are getting quality equipment in top condition, so there is nothing to worry about except where you are going to ride.

The Trails

The trail system is one of the best in all of Wisconsin. There are more than 235 miles of terrain to explore with Polaris Adventures and Bear Bogging.

On top of that, these trails are very well maintained and groomed weekly for the best possible riding experience.

The Terrain – Sandy Corners & Big Puddles

The soil and topography in this part of the state are somewhat unique, which offers an incredibly fun ride. This area was strongly influenced by the last Ice Age by the effects of glaciation.

The area around Warrens, WI is known for its cranberry bogs – so there’s no shortage of muddy opportunities. Other parts of the trails offer deep loose sand that creates a different ride and drive experience as well.

Nature and Wildlife

When you are out riding, you are surrounded by nature. If you slow down your RZR for a little while, you might also notice some wildlife.

In 2015, there were some of the first elk reintroduced into Wisconsin in Black River State Forest. While the elk population is slowly building, you are more likely to see a black bear roaming the woods.

Easy Riding with a few Technical Options

The main trails that run through Jackson and Clack county near Bear Bogging and Three Bears Resort are great for new riders with lots of easy, yet exciting ride options. For experienced riders, there are more technical aspects of the trail system, which James Waller, owner of Bear Bogging and local expert, showed us. No matter what your riding level, there is a trail for you.

Black River State Forest

One of our favorite sections of trails came in the beautiful Black River State Forest. This park is home to the Wild Cat Loop, where we spent carving up the corners and taking in the beauty of the treelined sandy track that wound through the forest. There were lots of great places we rode, but I think most of our favorite photos came from here.

Why Plan your Trip with Polaris Adventures

Polaris Adventures has teamed up with hundreds of local outfitters from coast to coast to make it easy to plan an adventurous vacation in some of the most epic destinations in the country. They make it simple to book awesome machines like the RZRs, snowmobiles, and even the Slingshots – all you need to do is show up ready to ride. All the equipment and gear you need is ready for you; all you need to do is just hit the trails.

This is our second trip with Polaris Adventures, we also went snowmobiling in South Dakota’s Black Hills, and this trip was just as fun as our RZR rentals in Wisconsin this summer. There was some amazing scenery to compliment the trails and fun rides.

Where to Stay in Warrens, Wisconsin

After a day of riding the trails settle into the Three Bears Resort, which is centrally located in Warrens, Wisconsin – just a short drive from I-94. Three Bears Resort has more than just a good location, and it is also equipped with everything you need to have a fun family trip no matter the season.

On the resort, there are rooms and cabins to accommodate everyone from couples to big family trips. Additionally, there are both indoor and outdoor water parks, plus a mini-golf course and a large pond for swimming in the summertime.

More Things to do Near Warrens & Black River Falls

Black River Falls – A short ride north is the charming little town of Black River Falls. Here you’ll find a classic old-time Main Street filled with shops and restaurants.

Lake Wazee – A defunct iron mine turned swimming hole, boasts some of the best diving in Wisconsin with clear water up to 400’ deep. People from all over come here to dive and get advance certifications. Under the surface, you find lots of old mining equipment frozen in time under the water.

Ho-Chunk Casino – For some entertainment head over to one of the state’s largest gaming casinos. If you’re not much of a gambler, it’s still worth a trip for their collection of great restaurants and live entertainment.

Sand Creek Brewery – Located in the back streets of Black River Falls this small brewery brews beer in a building where beer has been brewed since the mid-1800s. They have some great beers to try at the taproom, and the building itself is quite interesting. The brewery is not located on the trails, but no matter what type of vehicle you’re driving, always be responsible.

How to Tie in Bear Bogging with Polaris Adventures on a Wisconsin Road Trip

Bear Bogging is located close to many of the state’s top tourist destinations making it a fun addition to any good Wisconsin Road Trip.

This trip pairs well with a visit to the Wisconsin Dells, which is just under an hour to the south. Before or after hitting the waterparks spend a few nights in Warrens while hitting the trails and adding some adrenaline to your family’s next vacation.

Bear Bogging is also a great way to break up the drive to the north and west of the state. Next time you are heading ‘up north’, put a visit to Three Bears and Bear Bogging on your list.
